Interruptible Heat - Dual Fuel

INTERRUPTIBLE HEAT- DUAL FUEL             POLICY 5.005B

AVAILABILITY

Available to members for approved, permanently connected, and separately metered home heating applications where another metered electric service is used for lighting and other purposes.  Electric service provided under this schedule is subject to all applicable policies of the Cooperative and a member service agreement.

Load is subject to load control and must be separately metered by the Cooperative.

The Interruptible Heat – Dual Fuel rate will not be available if net-metered distributed generation is installed.

TYPE OF SERVICE

Single and multiphase, 60 cycle, at available secondary voltages. 

REQUIREMENTS

Member must have one of the following electric heat sources:  electric furnace, plenum heater, electric boiler, cove heater, strip/resistance heater, electric storage heater, air source heat pump, or ground source heat pump controlled in order to qualify for any incentives by the Cooperative.

 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

  1. Service shall be interrupted by a radio receiver or other automatic means provided by the Cooperative.  The member is responsible for any electrical wiring required for the installation of the necessary control equipment.
  1. Except of garages, sheds, and the like outside the house, the member must have an approved non-electric backup heating system or heat storage system that is capable of supplying adequate heat during peak period service interruptions.  This backup must automatically turn on when electric heat is turned off and it must turn off when electric heat is turned back on.

RATES

Meter Charge:             $3.25

Energy Charge:           9.5 cents          June 1 – Sept. 30 (Summer)

6.5 cents          October 1 – May 31 (Winter)

  

TAXES

Member bills for service under this schedule are subject to any applicable taxes.

POWER COST ADJUSTMENT PROVISION

The above rates are subject to adjustment due to increases or decreases in wholesale purchased power costs.   

TERMS OF PAYMENT

The net amount stated on the bill is due on the 20th day of the month.  If the 20th is on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next business day.  The gross amount is due if payment is not received by the due date.  The gross amount includes a late payment charge of 1.5% of the total amount due.
